From the foundation ceremony to civil works, train procurement and 2026 testing updates on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor.
Eleven selected milestones through 1 November 2026, including recent manufacturing and construction status. The latest check was 4 November. First-section opening and testing targets are restated
NHSRCL relayed a ministerial target for Surat–Vapi service in 2027, with extensive testing planned before passengers are carried.
The embedded announcement is dated 22 September; the article appeared on 23 September. These are targets, not completed work or a guaranteed opening date. The article’s headline and one paragraph conflict on whether December refers to starting or finishing construction, so no December construction claim is adopted.

RTI reporting exposes the measurement dates behind progress
Aaj Tak reported 62.16% overall progress at July-end, alongside a later track snapshot of 97 route-km with CAM filling by 27 August.
The report says NHSRCL replied on 21 September to an August request. The 62.16% measure describes July-end, not September-end. Viaduct, track and total-project percentages have different denominators and should not be merged.
